MVP Development en Zurich
How we work in Zurich
Three things from day one, and only three
A database backup somebody has already restored once, a testing site separate from the real one and the ability to go back to the previous version. They take a few hours to set up at the start and are painfully awkward to add once people are using the thing. Everything else can wait.
And a few things an MVP does not need
We are not going to sell you automated tests for everything, three environments or a textbook release process. At this stage, whatever touches money and customer data gets tested thoroughly and the rest is checked by hand. Building the full machinery before knowing whether the product interests anyone is spending in the wrong place.
The only irreversible thing is the first users' data
A coding error is corrected and shipped again. What the first people who tried the product left behind cannot be recovered if it disappears, and the whole validation goes with it, which is what an MVP exists for. A daily backup from week one and a restore tested before anyone comes in.
Shipping small and often makes the mistake smaller
If you ship once a month, every release carries thirty changes inside it and working out which one broke something costs a day. Shipping several times a week, when something fails the suspect is obvious and only that gets reverted. The shorter the step, the cheaper the stumble.
