Web Design and Development en Porto
How we work in Porto
Three drawers: an afternoon, a quarter, never
When we start, we sort every decision by what reverting it would cost. The first drawer holds the design, the copy and the hosting, all changed without drama. The second holds the interface framework or the content manager: expensive, but with an end to it. The third holds the data model, which sets the price of the next three years.
Changing database is not changing a line of configuration
On paper you swap the engine and that is that. In a project with months behind it there are queries written for that engine, data types the other one does not reproduce the same way, and a migration to run with the system live. That is why we choose it at the start looking at your real volume, not out of habit.
Identifiers leave the system and never come back
An order number ends up printed on an invoice, inside an email already sent and copied into your accountant's spreadsheet. Once that has happened, changing how they are numbered stops being a technical decision and becomes a notice to third parties. Half an hour at the start, or a permanent nuisance.
Inside the European Union, which also removes ties
Between Portugal and Spain the invoice is intra-community: with your VAT number it is issued without Spanish VAT, paid by SEPA transfer in euros and with no currency conversion fee. Hosting sits in a European region, so your record of processing activities does not grow because you work with us.
