The browser does not draw your invoices
A PDF is not composed by the browser: it is composed by a server library, with its own engine and its own layout rules. What looks flawless in Chrome can come out misplaced inside the file. The generator is chosen at the start and tested with a real document.
The file travels alone, with no network and no website
A downloaded document cannot ask any server for anything: the typeface goes inside the file itself. If it is not embedded, the reader uses whatever it has to hand and Arabic can arrive as empty boxes. You check it by opening the file in a reader that is not yours.
A table read the other way round starts on the right
In a document that reads towards the other side, the first column is the one on the right and the amounts column moves with it. It does not come out of an automatic mirror: you decide column by column, which edge each one aligns to and where the table breaks.
A web page has no pages; a document does
The header and the footer repeat on every sheet and the totals block should not be left alone at the end. A sixty-line list breaks somewhere, and that somewhere is a decision. None of this exists on a website, and it is half the work.
