Branding and Content en Copenhagen
How we work in Copenhagen
A website can be dated by the way it looks
This season's gradient, the extremely rounded corner, the geometric typeface of the year: they are date stamps, the way a drop shadow on the type was fifteen years ago. What does not expire is duller to describe: enough contrast, clear hierarchy, room to breathe and a type family that holds up in bold and italic.
The brand is delivered as variables, not as a PDF
A sixty-page manual is out of date the day it is handed over, because the site keeps changing and the document does not. The same values — colour, typography, spacing, radii — defined in one place and consumed directly by the website cannot drift apart from it. Our own site works exactly like that.
Tone of voice ages faster than the logo
Copy written to sound modern is what holds up worst: there are sentences that now read like a date printed on the cover. We write sentences that say something you can check, which is the only thing that does not go out of fashion, and to the same standard you are reading on this page.
Identity is tested where it is actually seen
On a phone held in one hand, in a sixteen-pixel icon, in the preview of a shared link and in fifteen seconds of advertising. That is where a brand lives now. One that only works blown up on the cover of the manual is not finished, it is photographed.
