Every decision, with its date and its rejected options
We record what was decided, when, who was there, which alternatives were considered and what ruled them out. Half a page per decision. A year later, when someone asks why the database is the one it is, the answer won't depend on who is still at the company.
The audit fixes a dated snapshot
The first deliverable is the real state of your systems on a specific day: versions, dependencies, access and who administers what. It is useful for deciding now and, above all, for comparing six months from now. Without a starting snapshot, every later improvement gets argued over on impressions.
Access with names attached
Almost every review turns up shared accounts and users nobody remembers. As long as there is one admin login four people use, no log is worth anything: you know what was done but not who did it. Sorting that out is usually the cheapest fix and the one that pays best.
We charge for the advice, not for what you buy
We are not partners of any vendor and we take no commission for recommending one, so “don't buy anything this year” is on the table like every other option. When a recommendation has a commission behind it you never know which part was judgement and which part was margin. Ours doesn't.
