How we work in Vancouver
A three-hour workshop does not fit into one
Classic consulting is done in long sessions with several departments in the same room. The only gap where both teams are awake lasts one hour, between 09:00 and 10:00 Vancouver time. If your brief needs that format, we are not the option: hire someone who can sit down with you.
What does work at this distance: the audit
Reviewing your code, your infrastructure, your cloud bill or a proposal somebody has put in front of you is reading work, not talking work. You give us access, we go through it during your night, and a document arrives with the findings ordered by what they cost. That loses absolutely nothing to the distance.
The document arrives before the call
The deliverable is sent twenty-four hours ahead so you can read it in full. The shared hour is used only for your objections and for the questions that came up while reading. Presenting a document live to people who have not seen it is throwing away the only hour there is.
Written to be understood by whoever was not there
A plan that only stands up while we are there explaining it is no use nine hours away. So it comes with the options we discarded and why, the criteria behind each decision and what would have to change to reverse it. Your committee can read it and argue about it without us, which is exactly what will happen.
