A technical plan ends up being read by somebody who was not in the room: a partner, a finance lead, the team that has to execute it. Written straight in English it circulates as it is. Translated afterwards by someone who was not part of the decisions, it loses exactly the nuances that make each one make sense.
We document why each option was ruled out
The conclusion of a consulting engagement ages; the reasoning does not. We write down which alternatives were looked at, why they were ruled out and what would have to change to reconsider them. It is what stops somebody reopening a closed argument a year from now, or keeping a decision whose reason stopped existing months ago.
Quotes you can compare line by line
If you ask us for a proposal and ask somebody over there for one too, both arrive in euros, with the same tax treatment and under the same European contractual framework. There is no normalising currencies and no estimating what contracting outside the Union adds, in order to see which is dearer. Comparing properly is part of deciding.
What we are not
We are not legal or tax advisers, and certainly not Irish ones. We do know the European framework that governs data protection, e-commerce and services contracts, because it is the same on both sides. Anything that turns on specific Irish law needs somebody over there, and we say so before it becomes a problem.
