Support and Maintenance en Toronto
How we work in Toronto
Measure uptime from where the user is
A probe installed in Europe says the site is fine because from where it sits, it is fine. If your visitors are in Canada, the check has to come from Canada: a downed node or a slow route shows from one side and not from the other. We set the probes up where your traffic is.
The hours we cover, in actual numbers
Live, 09:00 to 13:00 Toronto time, which is 15:00 to 19:00 in Spain. Your afternoon falls in our night and there is nobody awake in it: something that happens at four in your afternoon is dealt with the next morning, unless an on-call arrangement has been contracted. We would rather say so today.
Detection does not depend on anybody being awake
Uptime, errors and performance, with alerts separated by severity and automatic restarts for whatever can recover on its own. The alert comes through at three in the morning in either time zone; the person does not. Telling those two apart is what stops us promising more than we have.
Verified backups, and you decide where
A daily copy off the main server and restores tested for real, bringing the site up from scratch, with a record of every test. Which region they are kept in is your decision: the Canadian legal framework is not the European one, and there we are in no position to advise. We set it up wherever you tell us.
