Branding and Content en Abu Dhabi
How we work in Abu Dhabi
A name is not translated: it is transliterated
Moving a brand into Arabic means writing how it sounds, and there is nearly always more than one reasonable spelling for the same sound. You pick one and use it identically in the domain, the profiles, the invoicing and the signage. Two spellings living side by side split searches for your own brand in half, and neither one ever builds anything up.
An Arabic wordmark is drawn, not typed
Typing the name in a font and exporting it is not a logo: the strokes have to be adjusted by hand, exactly as they are in Latin. And the two versions have to carry the same weight on the page, which does not happen on its own, because the stroke weight and contrast of one script do not match those of the other at the same size.
Pairing two typefaces is design work
The Arabic family is chosen so that it sits with the Latin one in weight, contrast and air, not because it came bundled with what you already had. And each one carries its own size table: matching the numbers in the stylesheet produces a page where one script shouts and the other whispers, without anyone quite knowing why.
What the template settles is not argued again every day
We hand over templates with both typefaces, the sizes per script and the set of digits already chosen, so your team can produce without deciding it all over again piece by piece. Without that, everyone judges it by eye and in six months the brand has three different typefaces and two ways of writing the same number.
