SEO and Search Rankings en Abu Dhabi
How we work in Abu Dhabi
Two sets of digits, two different strings
A number can be written with Arabic-Indic digits (٠١٢٣) or with Western ones (0123), and both are in everyday use. To a person the price is the same; to a title, a URL or a search field they are different characters. You pick one set, apply it across the site and allow for the other when writing, because every visitor types with the keyboard they happen to have.
The same word, spelled several ways
A good part of the vocabulary allows more than one correct spelling: with hamza or without it, with ya or with alif maqsura, ending in ta marbuta or in he. Whoever is searching types the one within reach. Working a single form and assuming the search engine merges the rest is a bet, so we check the variants on google.ae instead of taking them for granted.
An Arabic URL does not look the way you expect
An address with Arabic characters gets encoded when it is copied, and what your customer ends up pasting into a message is an unreadable run of characters. There are two reasonable routes, transliterating addresses into the Latin alphabet or accepting that behaviour, and it is worth choosing at the start: changing your mind once the site is live means redirects and lost links.
Twenty-two impressions, position 6.2 and not one click
That is our entire visibility in the UAE across three months of data. Appearing on page one and getting no visits at all is not a ranking problem: it is that the title and the description say nothing to whoever reads them. And it tells us nothing about how we would do in Arabic, because we have not published a single line. That is where we start on your site.
