MVP Development en Berlin
How we work in Berlin
Buy everything that does not set you apart
Payments, transactional email, user sign-in, managed hosting. Building those from scratch in a first version means spending months solving a problem that is already solved and that no customer will pay you for. You subscribe, you move on, and later you look at whether bringing it in-house pays off.
Separating the reversible from what is not
Changing payment gateway takes a few days; changing the data model once there are customers inside takes months. Before any code is written we mark which decisions can be undone cheaply and which cannot, and only the second kind get a long discussion. That is what prevents endless meetings about things that make no difference.
Every outside service behind a piece of your own
The payment or email provider is used through a wrapper of ours, not scattered through the whole codebase. It is a few extra hours at the start that turn a future migration into editing one file instead of opening an audit. It is the only concession to the future we think is justified here.
Validating means measuring, not having opinions
Before building, you agree which number would say the idea works and which would say it does not. Without that agreement up front, any result gets read favourably and the MVP settles nothing. It is the most uncomfortable conversation of the project and it happens at the start, not once something is live.
